What is NPT Limited's current dividend policy?
The directors of NPT have adopted the The National Property Trust's policy for the payment of dividends by the Company. That is:
“The distribution policy of the Company is that, 90 percent of the net surplus after taxation for each financial year will be distributed to the holders of shares after adjusting for:
- financial effect of deferred tax;
- the effect of any realised gains and losses on investments and interest rate swaps, including any related tax effects;
- any unrealised fair value adjustment for investments and interest rate swaps including its related tax effect;
- any abnormal expenses and the Manager’s performance fees.
Any available imputation credits may be attached to the distributions on the shares".
What are the expected returns?
The returns available to shareholders in NPT under the current dividend policy are:
- a quarterly dividend paid in the fourth month following the end of each quarter year i.e. NPT anticipates declaring and making quarterly dividend payments, subject to cash being available, in January, April, July and October of each year relating to the respective quarters ending September, December, March and July;
- that dividend will be 90% of the tax paid distributable profits of NPT for that quarter, including any imputation credits available to be attached to that dividend, subject to cash being available to pay that dividend.
Is NPT in the Portfolio Investment Entity (PIE) Regime?
Yes, the Company elected to become a Portfolio Investment Entity (PIE) as part of the restructure and corporatisation of The National Property Trust.
